On Tuesday 10th October, Year 5 visited Turton Tower to enrich our History topic ‘What was life like in Tudor England?’ The children were given a tour of the house and asked to consider historical questions. They met the Lord and Lady of the house, dressed up, wore armour, handled a real dagger and other replica artifacts, and learnt a Tudor dance. They were able to show their knowledge of Henry VIII and his wives and answer tricky questions with plausible answers. They all came away from the trip with wonderful memories and a better understanding of Tudor Life.
Turton Tower is a wonderful place to visit with the family. It is open from March to October. The cafe and grounds are open throughout the year. Further details can be found at www.turtontower.com
